Getting started
- Capture a meeting: Tap +, record a quick voice recap, then review the transcript in Raw Memo.
- Structure and report: Fill structured fields manually, or use AI: Generate Structure (Pro), then tap Generate Report.
- Organize by client: Use the Clients tab to see meeting history per client.
Transcription
CallRecap uses system speech recognition to generate transcripts. If transcription fails:
- Confirm microphone and Speech Recognition permissions are enabled in iOS Settings.
- Try selecting a different transcription language in the Capture screen.
- Record in a quieter environment and speak clearly.
AI (Pro)
AI features can generate structured summaries (Summary, Outcome, Risks, Next Step) from your transcript/notes.
If AI isn’t working:
- Confirm you are signed in (required for Pro AI).
- Check your network connection.
- Try shortening very long notes.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is optional. If enabled, your meetings can sync across your devices using your private iCloud account.
If you don’t see data syncing:
- Ensure you are signed into iCloud on all devices with the same Apple ID.
- Enable iCloud sync in CallRecap Settings.
- Make sure iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS/iPadOS Settings.
- Give syncing a few minutes after changes.
- If enabling iCloud sync for the first time, the app may briefly refresh to switch storage modes and begin syncing.
Export & sharing
- Share as Text: Opens the iOS share sheet with your report.
- Export as PDF (Plus/Pro): Create a professional PDF version of your report.
- Password Protection: Optionally protect exported PDFs with a password.
Subscriptions
CallRecap offers optional subscriptions (e.g., Plus/Pro) to unlock advanced features.
- Restore Purchases: Use the Restore button in the app (or App Store purchase restore flow) if you changed devices.
- Manage subscription: Apple ID Settings → Subscriptions.
Privacy tips
- Avoid speaking sensitive client names in recordings if you do not want them included in transcripts.
- Use iCloud sync only if you want meetings available across your devices.
- Exported reports should be shared only with intended recipients.
Troubleshooting
- Recording won’t start: Check Microphone permission and ensure no other app is using audio.
- No transcript: Check Speech Recognition permission and language selection.
- App feels stuck: Force-close and reopen the app; verify network; try again.
